Skat-Trak Impeller

I recently picked up a Skat-Trak that was repitched to 20-25 for my fx1. I read some threads that this is not the optimal impeller for my set up (ported but no pipe, yet). I was wondering if it'd be worse than stock if I can't get the RPM's up or if the difference would not be that noticable over say a 19-24. Any thoughts? Also is it possible to have something like this cut back with the tips down that low?
