Sj650p driveshaft - midshaft spline overlap

Does anyone know the correct spline overlap measurement for a 1991 sj650 ? Have replaced driveshaft and midshaft but only have 30mm overlap , would this be enough .

Does your midshaft have the specified 20mm protrusion from the back of the housing? The 2 o rings should contact the drive shaft well behind the splines! 30mm overlap might work for awhile, but does not sound right to me.
