I just got a 1990 sn sj, i got it for a really good price.its all stock.i have a few questions:sometimes when u give it gas the prop will just spen and will not take the ski anywhere and i have to let off and then get on the gas easy?What could this be?


? 2.It sat for 2 months and when im ridin it it bogs some.It has the wrong plugs and im getting new plugs tomarrow.could this be the cause of the bogging?

if it is not hooking up, and just cavitating you need to first just inspect the pump for debris, damage, ect.... could possibly be the wrong pitch impeller or the pump seal gone bad. just get down there and look around.

as for the bogging i would check the carb for gunk

Look at the impeller. If its an aluminium stocker you are probably cavitating like hell.

I bet it's your pump seal gone bad. Pretty easy fix. You just have to take the pump out and get another seal.

My guess is either crappy OEM aluminum prop that is beat to crap or like Jawbreaker said it could be the pump seal. Either way you need a good SS prop and scoop grate to improve the hook up.

if you cant find a 701, the 650s arent bad at all imho. ive got one right now that rips just as hard as my buddys 701
