Super Jet SJ: What do i use to plug extra hole on pump stator section? Thanks

I have a 90 SJ and had to replace the Stator Section of the pump. The replacement has an extra hole in it about the size of a quarter. What do i use to plug it? Thanks

grind the paint out and fill it with JB weld or liquid metal, etc.

I am a fan of MarineTex...seems to be a bit stronger than JB weld...or at least I have had better luck with it adhering to surfaces. Its also very easy to work with wet and dry. Best prices for it are on Ebay.
