SJ Pump issues

so i put the oil seals and bearings in /w the driveshaft, it spins nice and freely... i screw the prop down (solas 13/18 concord) and there is about 7mm before it screws down all the way to the driveshaft... the hub doesnt come in contact /w the driveshaft... the outer surface is touching the housing of the pump... i dont have any pictures right now but i will get some soon, i was going to make a spacer on the lathe but wanted to make sure that i wasn't missing a step before i go ahead and do that... any advice is appreciated

I didn't see where you installed the OEM yamaha thrust washer?
If you didn't, thats your issue
