Hey guys I just am finishing up my 62t SN build. I went to do a water test and was unable to get any water coming out of the pisser. The pump was pushing water in and all my lines are new and clear.

I put a 61x head on my 62t motor and put on a new gasket. I didnt look close at the gasket and thought it was reversible/didnt mater which direction it goes on.

When I was at the lake yesterday I wasn't getting any water out of my head. I had water coming in to the motor just fine (from the pump) but it wasn't cooling or circulating.

What else should I check? I am running a 62t motor in a SN. I am running a 61x exhaust and 61x head.

Update, I think the head gasket is fine, I lined it up exactly like the old one came off. I went to check the exhaust gasket today and noticed the coupler on the stock exhaust wasent on very well.

My hypothesis is the coupler was loose and water from the cooling sleeve was running into the exhaust. Therefor there wasn't enough water pressure to run up into the motor and cool the motor properly.

When I pulled the ski out of the lake a ton of water came out of the exhaust. I didnt think much of it at the time, but it makes sense now.

you'll want to make sure you're running a 62t exhaust gasket on that 61x exhaust. i had that issue and fried the gasket letting water into the cylinder.
i do believe the water ports in the gakset are different. look in your bay and see if the gasket tab matches the motor tab.
wish i had a picture to help guide you.

not sure how a 61x head works on a 62t motor. hoepfully someone can shed some light on that.

you can't put the headgasket on the wrong way without trying really hard, the bolt pattern has one hole offset a couple of mill so 2 holes would have been fouled by the gasket when you put your bolts back in. So if your not experiencing that hot flush right know as you remember a couple of bolts being tight going in your problem lies elswhere.

pretty hard to misalign an exhaust gasket. there's 8 bolts to make sure it's in place. Provided the manifold is tightly mounted.
regarding OEM exhaust, not sure i can help.

i had an issue with a bad head gasket a few years back, if you're not confident in the install, pop the head and examine.

go through all your cooling lines make sure you don't have a rupture.

good luck.
