sj mat question

i just ordered a molded diamond mat for my 97 sj and i was curious if anyone has ever just wrapped the mat back under the back of the tray. and not used the molding piece becasue mines shot. i have the corners pieces but not the back strip is it a must?

i dont have it on mine so it will be ok just superglue it when it comes up cause it will. or maybe someone know somthing i dont

i just got a new sheet, and im going to glue it down the back side ( over the rail ), but not wrap it under.

yea I was thinking just trimming it and glueing it to the back side of the rail too, cool. I dont wanna wrap it around either.

mine is done that way (wrapped), but i haven't had it in the water yet. i think accbr ran it that way for a season or so. still looks good and not pulling up anywhere

i havent had good luck wraping it around the edge better off cutting it on an angle at the line and sand edges flush that works great never seen it come up

Listen to this man. Cut a 45 at all edges and it reduces the possibilty of you or water forcing it off. It lasts soooo much longer that way.

I third the previous 2 posts.
Don't wrap it around. Just cut it at a 45 degree angle.
Also....A few good wraps with a rubber mallet help it adhere good.
