turn clockwise for on
turn counterclockwise for reserve

According to may dash panel OFF is down.

on my squarenoses(s) there is a little pin , or 'tit' that locates the fuel valve to the firewall.

when its in its proper location, center position is off, left is Res, and right is ON.

keep in mind though, I think the knob is removable, and can point either up or down.

Looking at his avitar it looks like he has a RN.

My RN is the same. Center is off. CW on. CCW reserve.

I would assume it has a similar device to locate the valve though?
