I have a single 44 carb, factory limited pipe, ported 61x/61x 701, current jetting is:

120 pilot
150 main
2.3 seat
65g spring

FPP specs are
120 pilot
145 main
1.5 seat
95g spring

I looked through the database and couldn't find anybody running the 1.5 seat.
What's up with that? Is FPP thinking top end, you all are thinking bottom end, or what?
Supposedly running the smaller seat helps prevent dribbles and flows just as much. . .
What jetting have you run successfully with similar setup to mine?

And what about the swing arm for the needle - are you supposed to bend it to a position that holds the needle firmly against the seat, or should it have a little play?

A 1.5 N/S would require a 65g spring and may still be a little too lean for the throttle blippers among us. A 2.0 is best overall because it gives the springs full range of usable popoff. A 2.0 also has more area than the jets which is important for single carb applications. Make sure the arm doesnt stick up when installed or it can bottom against the diaphragm cover and cause it to be very rich at low throttle. Yamaha 701s dont vibrate enough to make the needle dribble, at least not with a hefty manifold and headpipe attatched. Your porting, peak rpm, and flame arrestor will greatly affect where your jetting ends up. My high port 61X61X needed a 160 main with the top screw 2 turns out. Im glad that I did not blindly follow everyone else with my carb settings.
