If I foamed(2 part) inside the nose of a SJ or put the stock foam piece in there, will the nose of the ski be more bouyant than if it wasnt in there?:banghead:

I need some geekage!:hail:

i don't think so. the hull is just displacing water. now if the hull filled with water you would be at some what an advantage i suppose.

legg dragger did this on his square and i thought it was a great idea. if you bust the nose wide open in a stab or something the ski will still float if you glass the back of the foam so it doesn't ge soaked.

The buoyancy is only for if you have a problem and sink. If you never sink it, it doesn't matter if you have tons or zero foam.

It would be interesting to see how bouyant the nose foam actually is.

Any bored Northerners want to play with some foam and weights during the winter, to let us know?
