Its ok I think they are made in China now,I noticed it has Chinese bearings in it and the stops for the steering need a little work,I will probably pop the seals on the bearings and pack them full of some decent grease,I will also file the steering stop so that it hits on the front and back at the same time,it should last a lot longer that way.

I could see that, they probably don't want to give up the in-house cnc time for older products.

It took several weeks to get here so thats a pretty good clue it wasn't made here.

I ordered mine direct 4 months ago and every month UMI would call and confirm if I still wanted it. I asked the girl that called me what the hold up was and she said one of the parts was made off site(china). It fit perfect I had no problems putting it on although I thought it was suppose to have quick steer. Is there a quick steer arm or part out there?

UMI used to make one,I have no idea if its still available,what I ended up doing on mine was putting the stock piece in a press and straightening it some,that effectively makes it longer which makes it steer quicker,there was a significance difference.

Good idea thanks my steering is all jacked up anyway I put x2 guy's trim system on and moved my pumpback so i've got alot of tweeking to do to get my bars centered.

I would but it appears that I cannot pin down a time frame on these ,that could be problematic especially on this site,I would hate to get drug through the mud for trying to do someone a favor.:banghead:

Is there a way that we can go straight to UMI and do a group buy type of thing. I would be down for 1 for sure. I could work on getting 2 other guys I know to commit to one.

why dont you think they would go for it ? They called me every month for 4 months to see if still wanted my order I just ordered a 335.00 part. Most companies wouldnt make effort to keep you informed about your order.The chic I talked to every month was cool, their a smaller operation than everyone thinks.I think its worth a shot.

I bought one used that hasn't arrived yet but UPS tracking says it did. A big problem with that is that I haven't arrived yet either to the place it was shipped to... lol

I agree with the repacking of teh bearings. Every UMI I ever had would get rusty bearings. The new to me one I bought will get some new marine grease in them

By all means call and ask them, like I said if I could pin down a timeframe and knew that I could deliver the product in that timeframe I would hook some people up.It took an act of congress just to get for myself,I wouldn't want to have to go through that multiple times just not worth it to me.
