Super Jet Shmity1 08+ Superjet steering cable install

Anyone have instructions/template for this install or tips? I didn't receive anything besides the cable with bracket and haven't had any luck searching.

I didn't get a template either. But if you run the cable and install it on the turn nozzle then put it in the bracket and atttach the cable to the turn plate. Get the steering plate centered and then just see about where the block is in the pole and drill a hole and bolt it down.

PM schmity, he'll email u a set of instructions. You'll have to grind out a decent amount of metal where the cable comes out of the handle pole or else it might rub. And dont screw up where you drill, we were off by just a hair and it was a pain in the ass.

Did you guys run the new cable down through the handle pole or in from the pump area?

I pushed mine frome the back. Also, don't screw up the order of clips ans washer in the back. The cable won't be sticking out the corrrect length.

Will I reuse the white clip in the second picture? I have it already removed in the first picture. If I was to reuse the white clip it would go in place of the C clips and washer shown in the third picture of the new cable.

Do not reuse the white clip. Put it together with his c clip the way the pdf shows that I sent you. If you use the white clip and to not put the rubber plug like the drawing shows the throw/steering at the pump will be so out of alignment that you will not be able to adjust it out.

It's good im going on my 2nd season with it. The mounting block that holds the cable at the pole has long seized in place. No chance thats going to come out. When it gives way im going new AM pole + cable but has been serving me well.

Makes a noticeable difference in the 08+ handling and its cheaper than buying a pole and new cable mine in on its second season and I have no complaints.

It's not an easy swap but definitely worth it. It still doesn't have as much throw as a pre 08 though.

Hey there,

I'm installing the shmitty cable with the cold fusion turn plate and the stock handlebars on a 2011 superjet.
I had a shop do the install due to lack of workshop/tools/experience with all this.
I just got a call from the shop installing the cable. When I dropped everything off they said that they had never installed a cable like that but would give it a shot.
All they've done before are the pre 08s. Any way, the problem is that they say its too long or longer than previous cables they've installed before (pre-08).
They said they'd like instructions to install the cable. I don't know if I didn't recive the instructions or no instructions were sent as I had someone ship it to me from the US to the UAE and he repackedged them with many other items so he might have not added the instructions.
I just sent shmitty a message and an e-mail asking the same thing, but til he replies I need help from you guys. I'm also going to ask JetManiacs for help.

Meanwhile:

1) Are there any tips to install the cable to the cold fusion turn plate and the stock handlebars, because I went with this combination thinking it'll be a smooth install?
2) Do I need to drill any hole on the plate, or does the cold fusion plate come pre-drilled?
3) Any theads or people you can send me to as I want this thing done quickly?
