I've stayed fairly quiet because honestly, PWCToday is SBT's site now, they paid for it, they can run it however they want.
However......
The crap they are pulling (notice I said they, meaning Bryan and Greg) nowadays is just ridiculous, childish, hurting the sport, self-centered, I could go on an on.
The latest is they are STILL READING PM'S. I have proof from 2 instances, of reading mine this past weekend (the gloves are off now Bryan, I know you'll read this and understand where that came from) and of another x-h2o member's just in the past couple of days.
Apparently Bryan finally figured out after over 8 months that I've been pm'ing people on pwctoday about x-h2o. Good job, you're really on the ball Bryan. There is nothing in their rules against that, I have been following their rules pretty easily actually and still posting on tech threads that interest me.
Currently, I am effectively banned from pwctoday, he has me in a usergroup called Miserable Users which basically makes it a PITA the use a board. We have the same thing installed here, and up until the big meltdown/banfest on pwctoday 2 weeks ago, didn't have anyone in that group. During those 2 days, it was obvious Bryan/Greg were banning people based on what they were saying on other boards, including our's, so I put their IP address in that group to block them from reading stuff and banning more members which at the time was only adding fuel to the fire. I hoped it would settle things down, maybe it did, probably didn't, but in the end I forgot about it and left the IP in there, so I guess he took offense.
Instead of contacting me, he put me in Miserable users on their site only after reading one of my pm's last Saturday. He also disabled my pm's.
Today after realizing what was going on, I e-mailed him about it, took their IP out of the group, and within 30 minutes they were on x-h2o again, but never did remove my Miserable user status, so I put their IP back in, along with another I know of. I know that anyone with some internet knowledge can get back in, it's just the principle, plus the fact that Bryan never replies to any e-mails. They do not want a working relationship with any other website, period.
Some other items:
At some point a few months ago, someone on pwctoday changed my signature, I put it back and it has since stayed that way. That's minor.
In the beginning of X-H2o, they pulled some stuff trying to get us shut down, trying to sway tuners over to their board by offering them private forums like Group K and Bill O'neal have, etc etc. It didn't work.
PWCToday is a ghosttown compared to what it used to be regarding technical knowledge. Most of the good posters have either left or are banned for various or no reasons and have moved on to x-h2o, greenhulk.net, go-polaris.net, and the other established boards out there.
I will probably finally get a ban for this post, but I'm effectively banned already so it really doesn't matter. I just have to get this off my chest and move on. If I am banned, it's not because I broke any of their rules, and besides, they don't follow their own rules as was evident by them using old member's id's to discredit javiert.
Some will take this as being negative, and it is somewhat, but I'm also posting because I (along with Harrison) was one of the original people on pwctoday, I was probably admin the longest (other than Rob/Bobbi), did tons of work on the backend after Rob gave up on the sport, I feel like I helped build that site to what it was, and was always in the top 10 posters. I also feel like that site brought the pwc community together like it never had been before, and now the community is spread out again.
Regarding that, we teamed up with Greenhulk.net to try to bring some of the sport back together, and would love to get some of the other sites to form alliances so everyone can keep in touch and share info. Our sport is back on the rise based on 2005's sales numbers, so we need to keep people in touch.
I could go on, but I have a 1 year old crying and ready for a bath.
