rusted flywheel

i just bought a flywheel and it is all rusted.... one of my other ones is all black and shinny and you can see the magnets, but this one is all rusted...all i see is brown....is it useless?

put it in the parts tank washer and wire brush the piss out of it, then i use sanding sponges and am rough on the mags, havent ever had one fail
