Runs bad only in salt

Can't figure out this issue. Ski runs great on fresh water. Like crap in salt water as soon as any water comes over the hood. Feels like plugs are getting wet. Have a new hood seal and stock flame arrestor and air inlet tubes are routed away from the carb. Someone mentioned wrapping my plug wires where the boot meets the wire to prevent arcing from salt water. Tried that and it helped slightly. Thinking maybe I should check that all my electronics are sealed up good? Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest you pull off your sparkplug boots and cut back your coil wires (in small increments) until you see fresh copper, then reinstall. Also check out your start/stop switch and wires. I hope this helps, I know how frustrating that is.

Plug wires leaking too much for saltwater....throw a blanket over running ski, spray home made saltwater on plug wires and watch it light up like a Christmas tree. But yes, try cutting wires back first before replace coil.
