I got my motor compression tested after fitting 33cc domes and I got 15 BAR = about 215 PSI - not good for pump gas. I can source E85 fuel which has about 104 octanes which should keep the motor from deto. What do I need to change in fuel delivery / ignition to run this properly?? I know the motor should use more fuel as e85 is less caloric, but I need those octanes!

Thanks!

215 really? I learned only to blip my throttle over the years but 215 seemed high even for that....maybe I could mix e85 with Shell Vpower 100 octane fuel? I have an EPIC CDI so I can adjust the timing which is nice if I go e85 way...

you'll need to start from scratch with the e85. i mix av gas and 93 here. comes out to about 4.25 a gallon. pretty cheap and you can run your current setup with no problems.

If you can make E85 work, I'd use that over premium or even av gas on my big bore 785 motor. For the record, my engine put out 220psi and after about 5 minutes of riding and running great with straight av gas, the engine would no longer run right. So 100 octane wasn't even enough for making setup wakes and jumping them on my motor with a conservative total loss timing curve.

yeah, the old truth compression needs octanes and ignition advance... maybe I am going to try to talk to a petroleum company here in Poland as they are the only 1 with e85 and maybe they want to support me/riders who promote a cleaner way to have fun...especially when I need more of e85 than regular fuel...

215 is fine on a freestyle ski with your ignition Andrew if you can get V power, I run them in that cranking pressure all the time.
