RRP billet pole spring ...

Hey guys , please help me here .

On the left I have a spring I bent but it doesn't work , I have another spring but please could somebody tell me exactly where to bend it ? On the short or the long side and which way ? I'm not doing this right and can't mess up another spring ...

The spring on the left I used but it just wore our the bolt !! And hardly held the pole up...

Guys, do I insert the long end into the pole or the short end? Which side do I bend, I have a billet RRP pole... I have searched but guys are giving conflicting info, some say the one way the others another...

Not sure if the billet pole is different to the cast?

The one on the left isn't going to work, the one on the right looks like a stock spring. The short end goes inside the pole, and the long end goes in the bracket. I do not have an RRP pole so I cant give you specifics though.
