650/X-2 Rev limiter.

I'd like to know also. I read something that the rev limiter was a mechanical feature on the stock carb, and AM carbs didn't have that feature, though no idea if this is true.

If I recall right there is a rev limiter in a stock 650 ebox. Without buying the dales a/m part how can I bypass/eliminate it

There is no cheap way out but the limit usually is not in the way until the cylinder is ported with a good pipe and low pitched prop. A 1993-1995 650 ignition #3725 or 3726 will give you a 7000RPM limit with 5 degree retard. 750/800 electrics have even higher rev limits.

You will need the 86 first year CDI (3 wire), only one with no limiter built in but still has the retard feature unlike the Dales. The Dales has no curve to my knowlege, not sure why. I have one I could probably sell off.
