Surfriding Replacement throttle cable suggestions?

Currently have a square nose cable that is starting to fray. This is in a round nose sj. I have a dual carb setup with the wheel at the back of the carbs vs. the front so need a longer cable. I have a 04 and up kawi finger throttle which there isn't a fitting for. So it is just loosely sitting in the throttle insert. Will a kawi cable work in my setup? I have heard they last longer and are more heavy duty. This would be a 750 cable. Are the 800 cables the same?

I think I have ...like a 93 750 cable...it's better than the stock sj cable. A bit longer, but much beefier and a fifth the price (from riva). Minor tweeks are needed.
Checking...

Checking... yep 93 kawi cable. Just take the cable holder plate from the top of the casting to the bottom (screw up) to make up for the extra throw.
I think it was under 30 bux.

Another option is the Jetmaniac big bore throttle cable. It's like a kawi throttle cable. He sells them really cheap. Can't believe it took as long as it did and countless finger pricks to replace my fraying throttle cable.

Hey Tanner, I run the Kawi cable in both mine and Jen's skis. I bought them from Jetmaniac for $29 each and haven't even looked at them in 2 years. It's pretty easy to modify the holder on the carb to take the larger barrel and it sounds like the throttle end is already ready to accept it so it should be a pretty quick and easy upgrade.

Be advised, the old Kawi 750 SX cable has 10mm fittings on both ends. TKMW wishes to use a stock 800 SXR finger throttle, not sure but I think it's 8mm. That's why he's asking: will a 800 cable work on his r/n.

I have a kawi finger throttle here from a 2004 couch so I can check it today and get back to you.

EDIT: fred is correct, the newer kawi finger throttles have an 8x1.25 thread

That being said, there is plenty of meat on this thing that I could very easily tap this one out to accept the 10mm cable and bring it down with me next weekend.

I also have a couple yamaha OEM's throttle if you wanna go back to stock.

Well now look what you started...it found its way onto Jen's ski for testing. It feels good too, no wonder you like yours.

Hahaha...it does feel good and works great! Yes please lets mod it to accept the kawi cable. I do have a stock yama throttle but they break too easy.

Jen didn't like this throttle on her ski so I pulled it off after our last ride. If you haven't modded yours yet, I will exchange this one for your old one the next time we ride if you would like.
