I removed my old, broken switch from where they dangeled from the bars. I removed the fuel toggle from the dash and put the switch there, and then went to home depot, got some valves and barbs and made a new fuel valve. The ski will now pull all the fuel from the reserve, with the primer hooked to the primary. I capped the primary just past the primer with a bolt that fit the line super tight. Much cheaper than a real cap.
The valve is inside the hood. I don't need a reserve. I only want to turn the fuel off when the ski is not running. I do have a connector for fuel line, so I could remove the valve and just connect the line together directly. That would essently be the same as it was before I did anything, since it was stuck to on. Now I have a valve that I can and will use.
The brass valve is slightly lighter than the stock one if anyone was wondering. It's nice because it's out of the way. If you look to the right of the valve in pic #3, you can see my nifty solution to capping the main line. Pretty bolt. I had to leave the main line so the primer had pressure to work. It wouldn't work on the same line as the fuel because it had no pressure ahead of it.
BTW, the zip ties are temp. I'll mount the valve correctly when winter hits, when I returf and add real foot holds, for now, I just ride!
