Removing stock grips

The handle bar has a screw on the end of it. I'm not sure what it's for.

I'm not looking to replace the grips. I need to pull the right side so I can install a waterproof switch that mounts on the bars.

Do I just give it a good pull? It feels like it's stuck on.

I think that screw goes into a fitting in the stock bars and holds the grip on, but I could be remembering wrong. I do know that I had to cut my stock grips off even after taking that screw out.

same, i had to cut mine off to get the stock finger throttle off. get urself a set of odi grips. $20
