I know, I know... damn school and the down time....

2 more weeks and I will do about 5 days of straight riding.

Brappp braaaaaaaaaappp

No he will not!
Learn to ride the crap out of that setup you have now, it's more than adeqate to fill your needs. Spend the money on gas and ride all the time, then step up later when you need more power :highhorse:

Remember, power won't get the trick done if you don't know how to do it without it :banghead:

Or, get the ADA head, or porting is good too :Banane09:

I know dat. I will probalby go with the head. Prob. the best bang for the buck (more protection of investment).

Trust me I am ready to ride... Out of summer school Aug 9th.

PD, what's the lowdown on Pismo???
I can't drive cause of school, but the wife and I will probably fly.

Maybe mix in some VForce2 reed cages in there too. I would stick with bolt-on mods before modifying the internals of the engine.

Good philosophy, but realistically, a good port job is the best increase in performance for the money (after a pipe).

Something isn't clear to me. Doesn't this '05 have the original motor? I'm confused because you say "port my 62T" and "swap 62T to ported 61X" You should already have a 61X cylinder. If you are talking about your cases, then I certainly wouldn't bother going down to 61X cases (even though I like mine).

I am speaking of the jugs/cylinders.

Yes, original engine = 62t

Swap original 62t for 61x cylinders.

I believe the 61x cyl was changed to 62t in 96+ on SuperJets.

Nope. It's always been 61x, since 94.

Well, the 2006 LE Rius in France has a 62T 760.

But I assure you, you got a 61x cylinder on top of 62T cases.

Perhaps I am coming at from a preference to race Limited over Superstock, but it seems silly to take off and then reinstall a nicely ported set of cylinders and still have a heavy flywheel, stock compression, and poor performing reed valves.

Good points - but you will have to admit that of all items mentioned, the port job will not only provide the most power increase, but also do it at a very reasonable cost-to-performance ratio AND be a very good foundation for the mods you mention.
