i had my stock pole -2, then i broke it, and -2 again. with -2.5 AMW plate

if the pole was shorter than 4.5"-5" its going to be hitting the hood. (or it would on my JK hood)

hope that helps

i run a -6" AC pole with short turn plate and straight bars... it's close on my WDK hood, but works just fine.

Couldn't you just raise the hood shock pad a bit so that it won't hit anything?

BTW - all I see is carbon fiber in that picture...sweet dude!!

My trim lever hits my hood with -4 inch pole and a -4 inch steering setup. I need to raise my padding about 2 or 3 inches to be on the safe side.

Do it twice?That's DooDoo
bigger shockpad... if you shorten more the angle part will just be closer to the nose... still won't sit right... xmetal looks better, but you'll be spending more $$$. Hydrodurf and padding is free if you have some scraps... who cares about looks anyways... just get it setup so it functions and can take a beating...

Top Angle

The top angle of the handle pole needs to be a little less (almost straight) to keep it from hitting the hood without using a bunch of pads. The new bun pole has an adjustment for that very thing. I am having Jeff from Waterdawg Kustomz build me one with less angle.
