well i didn't get as far as i wanted. the starter i thought i had turned out to be a Kawasaki one, and i didn't have a wire grommet for the pickup wires.:banghead:
But i got my -3 pole in monday from gilgoneround. put that on, and got the motor together and bolted in. i need to pick up some heatshrink tubing from the autoparts store and get started on wiring up the electrical. while i'm waiting for my starter and grommet. i plan on pulling out the rickter knockoffs footholds. then redoing the rails in turf, maybe some paint. but i'm going to hold off on that till winter right now i just want to get it going while the weather is good.anybody have a steering cable bracket the one that bolts to the pole? i'm missing that too.

i had a girdled head before with the pipe and it didn't fit very well. i had to cut up the mounting bracket and even then it was a bad fit, thats why i went with the non girdled.

well i just replaced all the purple parts with black ones (Kevin hooked me up with the side rails :woot:) and i bought the other parts. But i still had that ugly purple dash. and it was really botherin me. so i decided to pull it off only the turf was stuck to it and i ripped the side rails. i was just going to returf the sides but figured since i've gone this far i might as well pull out the footholds (i can't stand the ones that are in it). so heres where i'm at. i need to get some new footholds now and don't want to wait around for shipping, so i think i am going to go into blowsion's on monday and pickup some diggers. they are only about 10 min. from me so i don't have to wait for shipping. i thought about waterdawg (only a little over an hour from me). but from what i've seen it looks like a hard fit to get them installed, so i think i will go with the diggers.the foam was dry on the exhaust side but on the other side it was wet. But i dug it out to the bottom and it was dry on the bottom, under the tray, and up front on the sides. so i think just the foothold was leaking,so i just pulled out the wet stuff. i hope to be done with everything and back out on the water by tue.
