Super Jet Questions about shortening my hull..

I have read up on alot of people doing this to their sj, and its got me wanting to do it now :bigok:

I've searched many threads, but cant find any info on certain parts of the project.

I would like to do a 3" angled cut off the rear, thats the easy part, but Ive never fiberglassed before so thats where I need help. I want to glass from the inside, but dont want to cut my tray out! I havent installed my footholds yet so I should be able to reach in through the holes on the gunwales. So after doing the angled cut do I just seal the outside off with cardboard or layers of shipping tape real tight??? Im guessing I need to sand and grind the inside edges to help bonding? What products do I use and how much, I've read different products used in each build, but which is best? Can someone thats done this tell me the steps from start to finish on this project and what they used, pics would also help if you have any thanks.

Glassing is not too hard. That being said, you should cut out your tray to do it right. Prep work is key and I'm not too sure you will be able to sand, clean and get it ready properly without cutting out the tray. Plus you will be that much better at fiber glassing when you're done lol! Order your materials from US Composites. I have talked to Steve there and he is very helpful on techniques, materials etc...
