Question for Verscaclimber users

Ok, got a question for you guys who train with verscaclimbers.

I have been going to the same gym for 15 years. About 3 years ago, I started using the versaclimbers pretty religously. Well, my gym is a chain, and they opened one up closer to my home. I go in there today and get ready to start my training when I noticed this climber was backwards.

This is what I mean. The climber I have been using for years, both your left hand and leg go in the same direction. Basically, when your left hand is going up, so is your left leg. The one I tried today is backwards, meaning when my left hand is going up, my left leg is going down.

Has anyone ever used this type or is this the right type? I did feel like it was a better work out using the new style one I used today.

Comments????

it' s better neurologically, it is called crawling trainging. they use it on stroke victims to retrain the brain. not sure how it is for cardio, our cheap gyms don't offer such fancy equipment :) we just get treadmills and ellipticals

It really through me off, but to be honest, it was harder than the 'normal' way. I went to the VerscaClimber site and it looks like some of the models on their do go backwards. what was even weirder was that the two models I have used in two different gyms are identical. I am now wondering if there is a switch or something that allows you to run in the normal way and then change to the backwards way. Hmmmm..????......
