Super Jet pumps suddenly cavitating

I put a newly built mag pumps in my ski and it ran great 10 hrs. then it suddenly starts cavitating
like there is a stick in the pump of it is sucking air somehow.
What would cause this?
Lost the pump seal or midshaft maybe?

I have had cheap bearings fail in that short of a time.

pulled the ride plate, it was well sealed to the hull.
pump seal looks good all around.
guess I need to pull the motor to check the midshaft

think it may be the midshaft.
completely separated. :crazy:
and its a 1990, so only 23 years old!

IIRC thats the smaller size midshaft housing on the older SN's. I think you are stuck with only using OEM replacements.
