Blaster Pump shoe or something like that...

So this weekend my intake grate broke, so I thought. Turns out it is really the part that the grate bolts to. I believe its referred to as the pump shoe. Anyways the reason for the post is I have to order a fix tomorrow. I swore I have read certain grates reshape this entire area and replace it, if so I would want to just go ahead and go with that right now but I don't have a lot of time to research it. Any help or direction would be mucho appreciated.

Yep, just posted back over labor day weekend about this. Ordered one from Blowsion, but wish I had found XR's one first because I'd have ordered it from him.

The whole project isn't too hard, just a pain in the ass, especially if you run into the trouble I found with the shoe not exactly being an OEM duplicate. I used Marinetex and it seems to be holding up pretty well. I went out that next weekend and pancaked some big waves just to test it out and haven't seen any signs of failure. Going back, I'd use the tube-based west systems six10 epoxy if they had it in stock, but my dad's an old salt who's done pretty wild stuff with Marinetex and he recommended it. Plus while I was at it, I filled in some chips and cracks and sanded it all pretty.

I ended up with a Jet dynamics one. It did the job and fit pretty well I guess. I drilled the dimples out that it had in it and was able to use the factory 4 screws that go into it from the rear. I was disapointed I had to drill and tap the bolts for the ride plate but I guess there is no telling where that could have came out. Really the only thing I was really upset about is how it doesnt come as far forward as the stock one so you have to reshape the inlet area some. Getting the old one out was deffinitly the pain in the ass part of the job.
