Would it be benefical to invest in a solas 140 pump for my sxr?
Current setup:
- FPP wet pipe
- Stock carbs w/ arresters
- TBM intake grate
- Stock rideplate
- Stainless impeller of some sort
- Soon to be lightened flywheel

Ski is used for rec/surf riding in freshwater only

I have been researching and reading over and over, can't seem to get a answer as to what kind of improvement to expect, so looking for some input

get a skat mag setback if you're going to change pumps.the solas is an improvement over oem but the skat is worlds ahead.

Now, here is another question...

Stock pump and running a wet pipe, one inlet from pump and still run 2 water bypasses? I thought it was one in and one out but everything I am reading it is one in and 2 out since you add a larger fitting to the pump?

Would you think that one in and one out and a flow control before the stinger would be fine and cap off one of the head fittings? Or stick with the one in and 2 bypasses?

This was on a stock setup. But would work the same with a pipe on it.

Stock routing you would do one from head overboard and the other to the head pipe. Then overboard T'd off the stinger.

With split cooling both of your head outlets would dump overboard, then the T from the stinger would dump overboard as well. You would have to tap your pump for a second cooling fitting and run through the stock pump pisser line.

Ok sorry to be a pain in the butt....lets see if I understand this now

one in from pump - 2 overboard
two in from pump - 3 overboard

I am used to 1 in 1 out/2 in 2 out, that sort of thing. I would think the motor would run to warm with one in and two overboard

Yes. Stock is actually 2 overboard. one dumps in the pump cavity, other dumps out the side. Stock configuration the one that dumps out the side is restricted some.
