pump alignment?

My new pump and mid shaft are on the way. I need to make sure I don't sheer the splines off of the new shafts. Is there anything that needs to be done to the pump/midshaft to make sure that it is aligned properly ( I know how to check the alignment of the motor/mid shaft). my old pump didn't have any shims in it.

Your new pump didn't have shims either when I pulled it, so I assume it'll line up correctly.

BTW, the staff at UPS was amused at "Gator Hole" :scared:

Oh yeah---I also put a T-shirt and a couple stickers that matches my avatar in the box.
