Does the protec pipe fit ok in the fx-1? I’ve seen the riva red pipe in one but don’t think I’ve seen a protec?

Yes, if it’s a actual stinger exit made to fit a stock fx1 fuel tank. I had one years ago and it fit fine, I didn’t have to trim my hood lip or anything. It did have a slight lean to the pipe side when sitting in the water. But not much, and it never rattled loose or cracked as some stated about the cast protec pipes.
A couple years ago I called Carl at protec and they still had exhaust flange gaskets, carb jets/spring kits for that pipe setup in a fx1

One thing I would point out is that I'm finding that there are a few pro tec pipes that look pretty similar but are not all the same. No idea what fits what but I was digging around for info no pro-tec pipes recently and noticed that there are subtle differences and a lot of people seem to talk about them like there is only one pro tec pipe, which is not correct. There are at least two different manifolds and two different chambers and that does not include the stainless chambers or the Mach 2 pipe which is more noticeably different.
