ProTec 46 carbs

Almost bought a set of 46 buckshots, was advised against it and decided not to buy at the last minute. Very fuel hungry and they need a real strong vacuum signal.

So perhaps someone can tell me about ProTec 46's. Ive heard that unlike OEM 44's, OEM 46's perform pretty damn good without being touched. So I figure something modified by protec cant be altogether worse.

Or should i just stick with something like blackjack, novi, or supertune chucks?

If they are just Mikuni SBN's and do not modify them then you are good, if they taperbore them then they are more for rec riding / race setup.........

Honestly, for the money, the Team Scream 44's are good...........

yea, i guess i need to call chuck and see how much his carbs run. Would you run a 44 over a 46?

I dont think my setup is to extreme but its decent.

If they're Pro-tec modded then they are taper bored. I ran a set of aftermarket mikuni dual pro-tec 38s for many years and loved them. They worked and were set up so well, that I never even had to run a return line. I would imagine the 46's would be awesome.. If the price is right, i say go for it.

You can always get your money out of them if you dont like them, but I'll bet you do.

Brand new 46's are around 250 each.
