I just replaced my stock purple 96 SJ rail caps with new black ones. I used a Loctite product call Ultra Gel. It was easy to use. and worked perfect. Highly recommended.

I sanded the area first and removed the old glue from the pads. It took two tubes for each pad at a wopping $3.99 a tube at Walmart. I used Masking tape to hold it all in place overnight. 24hrs later and 3 hrs on the water and they are holding perfect. I'll be keeping a couple tubes in my tool box for touchups.
Time will tell the whole story but so far i'm very impressed. If they do happen to peel off I will give 3M 4200 a shot I guess.
