prop damage

Was out at a friend's lake over the 4th and noticed my SJ was loosing some of it's hookup. Checked it over when I got home and its got quite a bit of chips/dings on all 3 blades.

Is this something I should send back to Impros and have it fixed?
Or just smooth it out and live with it?

(Red paint inside wear ring is from previous owner who thought EVERYTHING needed to be red:banghead: )

(Also noticed that somehow I lost my little aluminum cone that goes from the shaft to prop when i put it on last)

It's possible.
On a somewhat related note, I was running my pump with a good Solas Concord, stock nozzle, fs cone, and damaged stator. 3 vanes had dings in them.
On my old ported cylinder, Hookup was great - no cavitation to speak of.
I put in my new ported cylinder, and got mad cavitation. I took another pump stator (and blueprinted it) - voila, cavitation gone, mad hookup and acceleration.
The cylinder porting was a bit different, more geared toward low end power (and better power overall). I guess it worked.

I liked the red steering nozzle the best :arms:

That doesn't look too bad to me, if it were mine I'd probably just smoothen it out with a file. Of course it would be better to send it to Impros, but that'd be about $80.

My point with all that porting babble was that seemingly small things very well may cause cavitation.
Though your prop damage really doesn't look all that bad.

if it's something you can file down, go for it. but if it's more severe, like mine was last week, I'd send it out for repair.
