problems with my blaster

It started last year and since we rarely use it ,it was not a piority


It feels like it is hitting a rev limiter. Last year I changed the cdi for a mod one with no rev limiter.Still did not help. If it is on the trailer you can hold it wide open and it souns like a rev limiter,bing, bing, bing. I dissconected the overheat sensor and nothing. Now it is getting worse and has a harder time getting on plane because of it .
I am going to swap it for another known good msd and then try the stator.

Anyone have any other ideas

I assume you've checked your impeller and pump, and they're in good condition.....

How do you know the new CDI does not have a rev limiter?

Have you tried disconnecting the heat sensor from inside the ebox? I unplugged mine from the motor and thought that would fix it. It did not. If I banged the plug against the exhaust, it would run good for a while.I unplugged it from the ebox and it ran great. The plug was actually bad. It's worth a try.

not sure if this helps but...had the same problem on my 97 SPX turned out to be the regulator rectifier...who knows may help with diagnosing...
