errr I'm not sure. I've done it before.. its not too much more that I saw a difference... Then again I didn't look so it couldn't have been bad. I think its just USPS rates? no?

You can use USPS to check shipping rates too.. I'm sure you know that, but you might have to find out and let us know if they charge more or the same..

usually less expensive because they give you a tracking # for free if you use priority mail.

plus it is real easy for smaller light weight parts

so what's the deal? you print out the shipping label, tape it to the box and dorp the box off at a ups store or ups pickup box?

Hey Nick,

I use that service a couple times a week.

It actually used to be cheaper. As of Jan 1st you get the same rate as you would get at the UPS store.

But, if you look at how much your time is worth it is much, much cheaper to ship with paypal.

I'm getting these shirts ready to ship... should I just go to the local Office Max and buy some envelopes to put the shirts in and then just print out the labels and tape em on there??? That seems like the best method... ANyone w/ a beter idea???

I think??? lets see if ollie has more info

Yep, you just need to know the weight and dimensions of the package.

I do have a scale for such things :sneaky:

Print the label out and tape it to the box. I acutally bought the adhesive-backed pages. I just cut the label with scissors and slap it on the box.

Drop it off at a UPS store or anyone store who ships via UPS. If you are lucky enough to find a UPS driver you can just give it to them. They take it from there.

QUick and easy....IF you have popup blocker make sure you turn it off or it will give you hassles printing it.

If you have any problems just drop me a line. There are even ways to reprint the label if your printer screws you.

You can honestly ship a package in 3 minutes. One of the big reasons I love Paypal.

You can pre print postage paid labels through UPS (and USPS) web sites as well, it seems you are just saving the time to re-type the address..?

nick, if it turns out to be more than $8, use the USPS Flat Rate Box.. it's about $8 for anywhere in the US up to about 40lbs. you can definitely fit 5-10 shirts in that box too.

i do the paypal shipping thing quite often too. works like a champ.

oh, the flat rate boxes are free, you can get them at a post office, or order them online at usps.com

theyre free! i have like 100 of them!
could I use them to ship UPS? what size are they?

It depends. USPS is often cheaper. I usually send something USPS (or priority) that I dont mind paying for if I have to.

UPS has some distinct advantages.
1. Working tracking # - you can tell where your package is (USPS doesnt).
2. You can start a claim process right away and have taken care of me with the couple of claims that I have had. USPS you have to wait 30 days before starting the process.

But, to ship the shirts I dont see why first class mail would not work. You can just drop them at the post office then.

Nick,

I purchased some Tyvek envelopes to ship the Texas shirts. That may be overkill, but I wanted to ensure the post office did not rip the envelope and stain shirts.

The PO may have Tyvek envelopes, but not sure if they are free.

Something to consider if you do not use the boxes, or decide to use them instead of boxes (much smaller for storage).

I could get 2 or 3 in an envelope (11x17?).
