Primer installation

So Luke said to just put a T in the return fuel line, and run that to my primer then to the carb. But, there is no straw on the return line, so if I need to prime the engine, there isn't going to be any gas in the line to prime the carb...
How does everyone runs theres?

switched it to that when I fired up the ski, but wasnt sure if I could leave it like that.

Thats why I love this site, I can post a question at school and have an answer within five minutes!
Thanks guys

We put it in the return line cuz putting it in the main line is restrictive, ive been told to never put it there. I always put it in my reserve line, but jetdude doesnt have a fuel selector switch, so he has a direct feed and a return. I figured return would be best so it doesnt affect the main lines flow.

Ive never heard of anyone running the primer in the return line. It doesnt make sense. Fuel lines are plenty large for any oem carbs, that little tiny restriction isnt going to hurt performance at all.

I was only doing what I was told. Ive never heard of anyone running it in the return line either, but Ive always been told not to run it in the main line.

Ive been running mine in the return line for a couple of years now. It works just fine. I have the T just after the restrictor in the return line. Either way works.

I suppose if you are using stock carbs with the fuel selector switch it would be better to run it in the feed line.

If you are running the stock fuel selector then T into the reserve line for the primer that way 1) you don't have to worry about restricting the main line, and 2) you can still prime the carbs when you're almost out of gas.

Well, no selector switch. Right now I have it T into the main pick-up, as for fuel flow, the fuel line is a little smaller than standard size, but it is still larger then the pickup coming from the tank, so I figured it'd be ok to use. With the T in the main line, will it be too restrictive? and is fuel going to try to go through both ends of the T when the carb is sucking fuel in?
