So i picked up this fx-1 and started tearing into her and look what i found under that purple wrapping paper. DAMN IT! What do you think is the best way to go about fixing this? The rail itself is almost broke off.

there are probably 10 ways to do it. I'd probably cut out like you would for footholds and then de-foam that area. Throw a couple layers of 1708 knytex or similar behind the damage. Go to the outside and grind down to your knytex then throw a couple layers of kyntex on the outside to get back to original shape, with each layer larger than the previous. Sand it all smooth, repaint and then go. For the rail, just reinforce underneath with a couple layers and then do maybe a layer on top of the damage, with all the loose stuff being ground away. It all gets turfed over so it shouldn't be hard to make it look decent.

yep, same idea here.

reinforce from the inside of the gunwhale and under the bondline. V out the cracks and flill.

I wouldn't do any glass on top though. it's not the right way to do it but it would still work fine and look better.

Mine had some places like that running down the inner and outer gunwales but they were only small spots. I just filled mine, but mine wasnt near as bad. I wonder why fx1s do this?
