Prepping Hull

Starting my new project this weekend. Basically i have a 1997 round nose hull thats a bit beaten up (purely cosmetic). I want to the hull complete ready for spraying up. Basically i want the hull looking brand spanking new including the underside. I was thinking of rubbing down the underside and filling with Gel coat filler then rubbing down smooth. Would anyone do it differently to this? If so how?

Thanks

I'm not familiar with gel coat filler, but I use epoxy resin mixed with silica to form a peanut butter like concistancy, then fill scratches and gouges with that. Sand smooth and you are ready to prime and paint.

Cheers i will have a look into that. The stuff i normally use is gel coat filler made by plastic padding i think they are uk based so you probably dont get that in the states.

Thanks
