650/X-2 pre filter/water sock

Put a 44mm sbn Carb on my ski with a pipe also. Did a few run with it and blew a coolant line. Ski died because the air filter was soaked. Dried everything and did a coupe more runs and the same thing happened. Dried everything and got it running again. This made me think if I sub the ski or even tip over the ski its going to die if the filter gets wet, right. Should I have a sock/pre filter on the filter? It came with a k&n filter. Any thoughts or recommendations? Also, what a huge diffence from the stock 28mm and stock pipe. WOW!!!!!

Ya find a stock air box and never have problems again.

Can you put a stock airbx on that Carb?

Ya. It's either 3- hole or 4 hole. Just post a wtb ad and I'm sure someone has one sitting somewhere. I will look this weekend to see if I have one.

A stock Yamaha air box will fix that issue. Every Yamaha I ever had I would just remove 2 of the 3 screens and never had a water injection issues. Doesn't hurt performance either.
