So today i was going to start to port my cylinders (701 61X) when i noticed few problems i think with the tamplates, i bought the temnplates couple weeks ago from a member from x. When i placed the template on the exhaust port it looked like i need to remove to much from the sleeve then what Matt e posted on his porting thread. As for the intake side, this template wants u to cut the sleeve and not to notch it as the Matt e thread.

Should i use the templates to port my cylinder or should i be trying to get my money back.!!!!!!!!!!!

please help.

Looks about right to me. Look at the mine. Mine were bought directly from Racelogic when they still existed. I'm including pictures of the painted area to grind off when the templates were removed. I do remember having to adjust the template ever so slightly up and down to make it fit the ports and edges better though.

edit: BTW I'm really happy with the power my motor puts out and it's only a 61x/61x.

The thread I wrote was on the first templates that RaceLogic came out with.
What you have is the second set, the "freeride" setup.
You're fine.

:439:I got it ported and its night and day difference, i still cant believe the diffrence it made. The templates i got were way off, the sleeve template was fine but the exhaust template was way to big, what happed was the seller forgot to compensate for the sharpie thickness and cut the copy to big. Thanks to waternut that has the real race logic templates for the real measurement, with that info i was able to make my own precise copy of a bad copy lol. eather way it worked out great.

just beware when u buy copies of copies of copies it might be way off LOL

Glad to hear someone else likes the results of these templates. Since I changed a bunch of things at once, I wasn't sure what made the most difference but sounds like the porting done by itself is good.

racelogic.com. i will never buy copies again only real templates. U might save few bucks buying a copy, but for me its not worth the hassle.

Also i cleaned up(sleeve matched) all my ports too.
