I have cut .040 off I believe. Dont run any tighter then .050 squish with pump gas. I cant remember the specs I set mine up at but I rised the bottom intake port back up and I opened up the exhaust port to somewhere around 66% of the bore. You have to be careful when doing all this stuff but then again if its an old 550 engine sitting around its not like your going to break the bank if you wreck it. I might of played with my transfers a little too pointing them more up and back in the cylinder. I ran pretty high compression with a lot of timing but I was also using higher octane fuel then pump gas.
