Port Canaveral Freeride 7/14/12

Speleopwer and I took the skis out of port Canaveral yesterday, had a good time, but I didnt get all of the footage where the good stuff happened. Small waves, but still a good time.

That looks like a really good time. Funny thing is that the ride looked so nice and relaxing and the music made md feel likr i needed to punch a baby. Mixed emotions.

I heard the Cape can totally go off ! had friends that used to windsurf it but if you touched the beach they would lock you up . Love to ride there someday .

Usually the surf really sucks. When they break it dumps you on the beach. It is nice though because you have the whole beach to yourself. We try not to ride there too often due to security issues. Every now and the a coast guard or police boat will come and watch us but never had a problem.

Forgot to mention the 15min idle out of the port sucks and if you break down good luck. All for waves that are usually small. I drive to daytona to ride more than I ride out of the port.

The waves depend on the wind big time, the cape has the point on it that blocks most wind and waves. We are getting braver going farther. We made it to the old Titan launch pad and the waves were about 3 foot and off shore. We are working a way to get more gas and supply's out so we can hang out longer and go further. Around the old shuttle pads the waves are huge and clean! Having the beach to yourself is great! You only have to look out for your ridding peeps.

It is a military base and you can't beach. If you do, they will come out and talk to you. My badge will let me out there, but I can't bring any friends.
