Other Pop off / needle seat springs

Have u guys seen springs loose their color? I've got a whole assortment of springs. I even bought some fresh new ones, but I'm seeing some strange number variations with pop offs on what appears to be same gram springs. I have what looks to be 65g springs acting like 80g springs. From the mikuni manual:

65g = shiny silver
80g = black
95g = dull silver
115g = platinum

Correct?

With a 2.0 N/S I'm getting:

65g : 12-14 pop
80g : 16-18
95g : 24-26
Don't have any 115g

Large change from 80g to 95g compared to 65 to 80 jump.

I haven't seen any difference in the 65 (shiny silver) and 80 (Black) grams springs, I know the 115 were always gold up until 2 1/2 to 3 years ago they went to a bright chrome like color for 115 springs.
The 95 gram spring I call dull silver

Art at Jetworks told me last year that the springs they sell now are junk and so inaccurate on the "pop off" pressure. He just told me to check each spring to get the best reading. So I just built my own gauge to test them and its worked great so far.

Heres my collection of springs. After going through them all, I guess I do have some 115g springs (both gold and chrome) however, I've gone through most of them and found some of same gram rating to give a pop off of up to 5psi different. Some of my 80g springs show discoloration. I assume those are my oldest as the two newest are dark black. If I was testing at the water I'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between the shiny silver 65g springs and the full silver 95g springs.

One of the easy ways to tell the 95 gram springs from all of the others, is they only have one closed coil wrap at the ends, all others have 2 1/2 closed wraps.
