pole dropping

I have fitted a blowsion lowered pole bracket and shortened my stock pole by about an inch on my 97 superjet. The problem now is that because the new bracket doesnt have a pole clip the pole just keeps falling down into the hood ( when your not holding it ). This is a pain when your taking of the hood or trying to do any tuning. Is there any way to stop the pole from dropping down, like different pole clip or better spring?

If you're using one bolt, you can switch to two bolts and tighten them up as tight as you want and rid yourself of the spring. I'm not sure the heavier spring alone will be enough to keep the pole upright when removing or installing the hood.

Might try it with the bolts tightened up to see how it goes, but would it not be kinda stiff when riding?
I read a post a while back about the blowsion spring, does it near enough keep the pole were you leave it?

You can just tighten the stock bolt up tight enough that it holds the pole in place when you let go. Not enough that it is hard to move just that when your not touching it it own't move. Leave the spring in there so that it helps bring the pole up. But then you can take your hood off and not worry about the pole hitting you on the head.

I have the blowsion spring and the pole pretty much stays in any position you leave it in. I don't use the clip at all anymore.
