SX/SXi/SXi Pro Pole Cutting; Can you?

Hello,

Are you able to cut a SXI 750 Pole? Some say you can, some say you can't; does any actually know the real answer to this?

If so please tell me how you do so, I was thinking about cutting mine 3in, my buddy cut his super jet pole 2.5in and that felt right but I'm a little shorter and have a heavier boat so i was thinking 3in should be right.

Just get a stock RN pole and cut that to your liking. The stock Kawi poles are very weak!

^ stock kawi poles are very weak I broke mine within probably 3 months of being brand new. I would try and find a good used aluminum pole they're easy to cut down and weld back together, strong as hell too.

Just cut a section out of the middle, pot it back together with thick epoxy, and wrap the joint with 4 layers of 6oz cloth. You will have to carefully align the halves for it to turn out well. Most broken poles have been either slammed down against the hood or overextended. BTW, SJ poles break the same way. Add a soft pad to the hood and use a limiting rope.

I cut my sxi pole just like kevbo said. I did not care about looks and preferred to have a shorter pole. Worked great.
