play in impeller shaft bearing (one that is screwed to the hull with the coupler)

i was just wondering how much play if any should be in the intermediate shaft bearing. (that whole assembly that is bolted to the bulkhead). Mine has a fair amount of play but doesn't make any funny grinding noises when i turn it by hand. It doesn't vibrate while riding so im not sure what to do.

its normal to have a LITTLE up/down play in the bearing.

okay i think i will just leave it...its hard (measure) play and its kind of a feel thing but i don't think it is worth looking into unless i have a problem with vibration. Thanks for the quick response.....i love this forum
