Piston To Cylinder Clearence!

Anybody have an idea what the piston to cylinder wall clearence is for a Sudco Piston? I took my 701 cylinder and pistons (2mm over) to the local machine shop and the owner said i needed to find the clearence bewteen them!

What are you intending to do to the motor? Is it bone stock? Are you put a head and pipe on it? are you going to freestyle it or race it?
You need to be more specific for your set-up!
 
oh didnt know all that was important :banghead: sorry.. I do plan on put a head on it, also a pipe but havent yet decided which ones im going to get! I will be manly freestyle but do plan to race alittle just to see what its like! hope that helps :cheer:
 
I put a 760 together last year in a Superjet. It has a B pipe, 170 psi head, MSD enhancer etc. I am using OEM cast pistons with 0.003" clearance with no problems. I use good oil and always warm it up well. I rarely go WOT for more than 10 seconds.

Damn! 0.003" is tight! Have you pulled the head and inspected the cylinders lately? I wouldn't be surprised if you have some slight scuffing.
