I have both set ups in front of me so I figured I would take some pics for a comparison. TBM w/ C-75 large hub impeller vs a OEM pump w/ Solas impeller and stubby cone

D-Roc

I forgot!
that is the nicest pump porn if seen if a few weeks. A buddy just installed one too with a skat prop.....awesome performance thats worth the couple extra pounds.

Do you have to use a large hub prop with the TBM cone?

I guess I NEED to gt a TBM cone I just don't want to drop a ton of money on the pump of this ski ... It limites how many ride trips I can make...

Basically what I want to know is it worth the $350? If you still run a small hub impeller?

whats it do?

The TBM basically makes the OEM pump a mag pump. All the mag pump does in increase the hub diameter to increase your pump pressure, resulting in better hook up and thrust by making the pump more efficient. It will rob a few HP b/c it requires more power to operate.

The TBM will work with a concord impeller, but not to its full potential. I have not run the TBM yet and it has been 7 months since the last time I have been on the water :banghead: so I will not have a good frame of reference. I will have a few boats that I can run back to back so I can do a comparison. I hear good things about this set up. I have heard that it makes the stock pump perform about as good as a mag pump.................but I hear the mag is still a little better. However it is also lighter so if weight is a factor this may be a better option.

Is it worth the $$......depends on what set up you are running. If you are running a ported 701..........I think the OEM pump and a good impeller is fine......thats just from my experience. However, if you are running a BB cylinder and larger carbs......or a mild stroker crank I think the added hook up would be benificial in that application. I have heard that this set up even performs well on 5-8mm ADA strokers.......an application where the OEM pump just would not cut it. So in essence it expands the usabe range of the stock pump at a fraction of a mag pump price.

Thanks :frown: I guess I have to order one. I have a 850cc ADA motor, 48 full specs. I guess I need the extra hookup. The stock pump with a 13-16 concord, bored nozzle and, ww cone, goes flat within just a few feet of launching off of idle. I am very dissapointed the the motor or better yet the setup I have now. I am sure it is the pump.

Where is the best place to order one? Well not best place cheapest place.

I would reccomend it for your set up for sure. The cheapest place I found them was atlantic jet sports. I think it was 275ish for the TBM cone. I achually got the C-75 impeller from Legdrag.com. Talked to Kevin and he has a particular pitch that has found to work well. The impeller is like 250. or just run your current impeller and see how it does. It might achually be cheaper to just get it all from legdrag.com so you don't have to pay for shipping from 2 places
