so just picked up a 750sx thats been sitting for about 6 years, brought it home, gas tank was empty, so the carb was clean "runs and idles fine" tossed some gas in it and charged the battery , didnt trust the oem oil pump off the rip so i pre mixed the gas rich and left the oem oil pump hooked up as well...
anyways, cranks, idles, revs clean, after about 3 mins on the hose the head is getting really hot, so i checked the water temp sensor on the ebox for safety "surprise its been removed"
hooked to the hose its flowing water steadily out the pisser and the rear pump and exhaust..
i pulled the head off, all the water jackets are clean, head gasket is installed correct way upwards... cleaned everything up with a wire brush, used some copper rtv spray and re installed, same systems.. :/
another thing, with the water "hose" unhooked and flush cap off im getting steady exhaust smoke out the pisser and flush hook up..
the exh manifold also had some small pools of oil in the bottoms of them "maybe just the rich mixture? or is it lean?"
i guess maybe i should remove and toss a straight edge on the head ? a lean condition wouldnt cause this much heat and rev clean like it does would it?
thanks guys.... maybe run comp, deck the head and new hg? or should i check for other things first?
